Apologies to the Bay City Rollers for that headline. On to the picks:
MLB
Rays +146, 1 to win 1.46 units
When Grover sees this line, he's going to take out a second mortgage on his house to bet it. If the books are going to give us a line this big with Shields, we're taking it. Crazy. I don't care who the other team is.
Astros +106, 1 to win 1.06 units
Better pitching, better hitting, at home, and......underdog? Thank you very much.
NBA
Pistons -6.5 +103, 1 to win 1.03 units
Pistons are locked and loaded at the moment (don't worry, you'll see their lack of focus again in Game 3). Hitting on all cylinders after sleepwalking through the first few games of the Philly series. Dwight Howard won't be posting any 20/20 numbers against crazy-ass Rasheed. 'Sheed would bite his ear off or something before he would let that happen. I like Maxiell in the starting lineup, and he and Tayshaun Prince should be able to keep Turkoglu and Rashard Lewis in check. In the backcourt, it's no contest - huge advantage for Detroit. No soup for Superman.
