Thursday Night

We've changed the way we're keeping the picks record over on the left to a units-based method, like everyone else on the planet does. We started off using 100 instead of 1 unit because we thought the math would be easier (not our strength), but it's pretty much the same. Also, by putting 100, or 50, or the like, it might look like we are recommending a particular amount you should bet and we are not. We're just lazy and thought it would be easier math-wise. On to the picks, lines from Matchbook:

MLB

Tigers (Robertson) +105, 1 unit to win 1.05 units

We finally found something we could agree on today, and that thing is ---> kicking the Yankees when they're down is fun! The reasoning is pretty much the same as yesterday's Tigers play. Yankees are missing A-Rod and Posada, and have an awful pitcher (so far) going tonight. We'll take an advantage on the mound and in the hitting lineup as an underdog every time.

NBA

Pistons -5.5 +100, 1 unit to win 1 unit

Go ahead. Call me a square (you're a square!). Even if the "Haitian Sensation" (Dalembert) brings a voodoo doll of Sheed to stick pins into, the Pistons still trounce them tonight. Heck, Sheed would probably like that. The Pistons are clearly superior when they are giving the game their full attention, and Philly now has their attention. There's not much of a letdown when the second unit gets in there for Detroit, either. It's over, Sixers. It was fun while it lasted.
